Putting your health first

The health of our members is always our top priority. FEP knows many of you have serious questions regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) vaccines, especially as COVID-19 continues to significantly impact our daily lives. Our coverage commitment is to ensure our members can quickly access the right care at the right time.

No member cost share for vaccines

FEP members have NO out-of-pocket costs when they receive any of the vaccines approved by the FDA with emergency use authorization. This means that you should not be asked to pay anything for either of the two recommended doses for the vaccines. Your cost share is waived no matter where you receive the vaccines.

Continue with COVID-19 prevention

We all play a part in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Continue to reduce the spread by wearing a mask, washing your hands, avoiding crowds and keeping socially distant from others. Visit the CDC for more prevention and safety tips.

When and where to get vaccinated

FEP is committed to providing information and education on the advancement of the vaccination process and key access for its members and the public at large. FEP recommends that members check with their local and state health department for information on when to get vaccinated.

You can use the national VaccineFinder to check availability and search for vaccine locations in your area. The VaccineFinder creators have worked with clinics, pharmacies, and health departments to provide accurate and up-to-date information about vaccination services. VaccineFinder is operated by epidemiologists and software developers at Boston Children's Hospital.

You can also search FEP’s vaccine network to find a Preferred retail pharmacy near you. Remember: you should get both doses of the vaccine if two are required.

Watch out for COVID-19 fraud scams

We are focused on protecting our members from fraudsters who seek to take advantage of the fear and confusion that we may be experiencing during these uncertain times.

Be cautious of advertisements for vaccines or medications that are not recommended by the CDC, your local health department or your doctor. Phishing emails referencing COVID-19 or the vaccines can look like they are from a trusted source but in reality could be from scammers trying to steal your personal information. Be aware of door-to-door COVID-19 scams offering home exams, testing or vaccines.

Review your Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for medical services and visit and for your prescription history. Please be sure to report any unexplained or unusual charges, fills or refills to the fraud hotline at 1-800-337-8440. You can learn more about healthcare fraud here.
