Are Seasonal Allergies Exhausting You?

When spring and fall roll around, do you find yourself more tired than usual, without any real explanation? Seasonal allergies may be the culprit.

Many people who suffer from seasonal allergies find themselves very lethargic when allergy season sets in. Often, they don’t want to do regular activities—or even get out of bed in the morning.

Allergy symptoms include itchy eyes and skin, sneezing, nasal congestion, wheezing, and rashes. Seasonal allergies are caused by grass, weed, and tree pollen, as well as mold. If you have asthma, seasonal allergies can make your attacks worse or more frequent. Learn more about how to manage asthma here.

If you suspect you have seasonal allergies, consider visiting your doctor for allergy tests, which can help confirm if you have them, as well as identify the specific allergens that are bothering you.

Then, your doctor can recommend a course of treatment to help you control your symptoms. This could include regular allergy shots, inhalers, nasal sprays, or other over-the-counter or prescription medicine.

Consistency with treatment is one of the keys to managing seasonal allergy symptoms. So, if you’re diagnosed with allergies, be sure to stick to the course of treatment that you and your doctor choose.
